inspired by the graceful gesture of the traditional tasuki, each custom-tailored piece unfolds like a meditative brushstroke, evoking a dialogue between the ephemeral beauty of flavor and the enduring elegance of form. debuting amid the hushed reverence of kodō’s rock garden, the installation served as both a stage and a sanctuary—a space where an exclusive tasting menu and private dining experience invited guests to lose themselves in the evocative whispers of japanese culinary heritage.
handcrafted from premium fabrics, the uniforms speak in a language of contrasts. extended lapels and intricate pleat overlays pay homage to firmé’s signature tailoring, reimagining the functional grace of the tasuki within a contemporary silhouette. the sushi chef and bartender ensembles, in particular, fuse practicality with an almost poetic refinement, while the server uniforms, with their classic button-up design accented by diamond star snaps and a half-pleated apron, echo the storied elegance of vintage japanese school uniforms and the fluid lines of the hakama.
more than a collection of garments, kodō’s uniforms are an enigmatic exploration of the spaces where art, service, and culinary excellence converge—a silent yet eloquent testament to the beauty of tradition re-envisioned.
